Dunhill Heritage - box pressed robusto

I don't remember where this came from. It had a small label that read 12-15. I assume that means this thing has seven months on it. I tried reading reviews about it while smoking and I can tell a lot of the reviewers smoked it too soon. I didn't get any sour or diesel flavors. There was no smell of vinegar from the shaft or foot. It was a great dark earth and pepper from the beginning with hints of graphite/minerals. There was a bit of cinnamon that came and went and a flavor almost like green peppers sauteed in butter and salt that played in the background.

I wouldn't pay the full MSRP of $10 for one. At about $61 for a box of ten, it is worth a shot. It isn't anything revolutionary but it is an enjoyable smoke.

La Perla Habana 1515 - robustly

I bought a fiver after reading Katman's review. I am glad I did. At a week you already get some potential shining through. Black pepper, earth, coffee, sweet cedar, berry, and beef jerky are all there. I might need a box to rest a month.

I was worried that the Ecuador Habano and Sumatra might mean this was just AJ blending to somebody else's specs. Despite the review I thought it might miss the mark. Silly me. I should know better than to doubt AJ or Katman.
