I've used a few cheapie to medium grade and both s.s. and silicone. Only issue I've had is sometimes I pushed them to far inappropriately and the probe tip was near the edge of the meat. Are you pinching the cord in a door some something? I think the next one I buy is just gonna be a fire board. I wanna actually see it trend and watch the stall and other parameters.
