I've never been much of a beer guy. This is because I find most bitter flavors to be horrendous, and beer tends to be bitter. But recently, I've really fallen in love with Sapporo. My favorite comes in a white can here in Japan (not sure if they have it in the States), it's really close to the Sapporo draft that they have on tap at some restaurants (the stuff on tap is half a notch better). Very crisp, not bitter, and an incredibly clean finish. Kirin Lager is like an amped-up version of that Sapporo, also very good. If I were comparing them to cigars, Sapporo would be an Cohiba or HdM and Kirin Lager a Partagas (but they are a little closer than that).

I'm in the process of trying others now, but basically I've found I really like some Japanese beer!
