We have a Honda Civic hybrid. Looks exactly like the regular Civic except it has the words "Hybrid" in small print right after "Civic" on the back.
From SF to Las Vegas on one tank of gas. Plus free carpool lane access (even with one person) and a $5000 off the top tax break. It even completly shuts off at stop lights ( no engine noise and as soon as you put it in gear, it just goes. And no you don't have to plug them in). Honda contacted us to buy the used Civic back cause they can't keep them in stock.
Once my car goes (any day now, I'll pick up some variety of hybroid car)

If I could find one I like I would, trouble is, by the end of my lease on the BMW, i'll have put almost 30 Grand into it and am reluctant to just walk away from that..I can buy-er at a good price.

If they made one that appealed to me and it didn't cost almost 65k I would.

Our little Civic only cost a couple grand more than the regular Civic.

I like utility vehicles...I drive a Vibe and the wife drives a Pacifica.

I like the Lexus SUV but it is too 'spensive...the Escape is to small and I really don't like Ford.

Does Toyota have a hybrin Highlander? I might consider that if it weren't too pricey...less than 30k.

Toyota has a highlander and with the tax credit may bring it in under 30k.

Think of just this idea. Have an 03 Mazda w/ only 27k. Wife may trade in for a Toyota Prius or Matrix, just for the fuel economy. Outside chance for the Civic Hybrid. I would then drive it more, just can not smoke in "her" car.
