Geez I was about to say...

Okay so a 2wd v6 gets 19 city/25 hwy.
and a 2wd hybrid gets 31-33 city/27 hwy.

I see a big difference in the city but not so much on the highway. And the extra $9k difference on the base models isn't so appealing.

I don't think I could get used to driving a hybrid... would probably feel like I'm in a golf cart. I would rather just get a vehicle that has displacement on demand.

You might not have a choice in the future.

The Toyota version uses the electric engine in the city and the gas engine on the highway so I can see your point about it feeling like a golf cart (but it is quiet).
However, the Honda one uses the gas engine and the electric motor all the time ( just less of each). It feels like a regular car, well a regular Civic anyway. It was the only one that we could find that came in a manual transmission.

Ha yea torque is not something that the hybrids are to good at as of now... and when you mash the gas it automatically sends gas to the engine so the hybrid does no good when considering that...

I may consider one when I get my next car.... Which will be a year and a half roughly, but until Nissan does something then I doubt I will b/c that is where the majority of my deals come from...

When they make a 1 ton crew cab truck that can pull a horse/stock trailer 75 miles an hour up a hill.......I MIGHT think about it.

I drive the 2005 Caddilac Escalade.

It does use a lot of gas. But boy is it comfortable and what a ride !

I will be trading it in at the end of the year for the 2007 model. High gas and insurance prices will always be there. You gotta enjoy life while you can.
