BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE
Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I have found Pimsleur's CDs much better for learning enough of a language to get by in real-life situations than anything else. Never really tried Rosetta Stone.
My list is not too long, though I spent significant time working or living in some of these places: Russia (studied there), France (worked), Macau (worked), Hong Kong, Italy, Austria, Vietnam (vacation), Turkey, UAE (Dubai and AD).

Ive got more air miles and hotel points than a BOTL could ever spend lol... (it helps when someone else is picking up the tab for about 90% of the trips listed...)
Sadly, I havent seen as much of the US as I would like... only been in about half the states... big gaps in the northwest and northeast both....

I spent some time in portland when I was a teenager (a few weeks).. and a bit of time in the seattle/tacoma area here and there... and have passed through northern california a couple of times.. but thats about it.. havent seen much of that area at all.... but would really like to...
we did Italy like that a couple of years ago...
spent 3 days in Rome.. then went to Florence for 3 days... then went to Capri for a day.. before we went back to Rome and caught our flight home.. was a great trip...
have done the same thing in Holland/Belgium as well.. spent a day in Amsterdam.. then scooted over to The Hague..then went to Brussels for a couple of days before heading back to the US.. was super easy.. not expensive at all.. and a lot of fun..

My wife absolutely LOVED Rome. She says I just HAVE to go. I think i'm really diggin' the 2-3 days here and 2-3 days there concept. I get bored pretty easily, and I've been told several times now that the European train system is easy and convenient.
