Don't be lazy it is not Marine-ish, use Google is is very friendly.
What do you know about Marines?

I was curious too, so I googled... Cursory search came with this article from recent.
Interesting read, to truly eliminate all threads these days is nearly impossible imo. But we can do our best to control it, but nothing is 100% proof unfortunately.

It would be interesting to see if airport security goes back to being private again in the future

Here is an older story, but proving the point

I will preface this with the statement - I am very anti-government control. The government does what it can to give itself more power. Point in case.

Security like this never should have been awarded to the government. Capitalism provides a better solution because you can lose your job if you don't perform. Provided a job to an agency that has no repercussions for poor performance does not solve your problem. Hire a contractor that has experience and fire them if they do not meet the standards set in their contract for testing. Then hire another, and another, and another until you have someone who is doing the job properly. Hold them responsible and they will perform.

But say you terminate a contract and the employees find out they’re all being replaced. What happens in between when the bitter employees stop working hard and just become complacent? The gaps would become very dangerous transition times

I don't claim to know all the logistics. You would have to award a temp contract in the interim maybe? I also don't believe you'd have turnover as much as I made it out in my initial thought.

True, there’s been talks about it tho. We will see what happens.

Either way, I refuse to waste my life and live in fear like others do.

I have not. Scared of burning my eyebrows off. I have started a cigar from a campfire but nearly asphyxiated myself from putting my head in the smoke.

Last time I flew, I mailed a couple Ronsons and a cutter to my destination a couple days ahead of time. They were waiting for me when I got there. (y)

Fix cost money, cause I convinces, and copy what Isreal does. Friend works with Homeland Security (DHS) he spent a month in Isreal to see how they do things. He was impressed with their no BS Policies, and attacking problems.

He said the ACLU would be upset with the way they do stuff in Isreal.
Theres no doubting that the Israelis have cornered the market in airport security. They have not had any serious airline incidents since the 1970s I beleive. BUT their entire approach to the problem is different AND it took them years to achieve this as it required signigicant social changes and sacrifices. All passangers are considered potential threats and then they use behavioural science and profiling on top of it. Every car is checked for a bomb, there is armed security everywhere and dare I say it, only a small percentage of Israelis actually own guns due to stringent backgrounds checks and tighter ownership laws put in place to reduce gun ownership numbers.

These are all perfectly acceptable measures considering the threats they face and the volume of passangers they process. Not only do the goverment and private contracts hired by the airports take it seriously and accept the sacrifices but so do the public. Because its necessary in their situation to prevent a very real and close threat.

I grew up in England in the the 80s and lived close to a special forces miltary base. Roads, trains, bus etc all shut down on a constant basis due to very real and constant IRA threats. Heavy, layered and constant security were things I grew up with, BUT they come at a price. And for us, at the time, considering the proximity and constant nature of those threats, the public backed those measure.

IMO we just dont face the threat of terrorism on a local level like the Europeans and Israelis. Dont get me wrong, we certaintly are a target but this is not a one size fits all situation. In the states we are far more likley to die of obesity, gun violence or a car accident than a terror attack. And, while I agree that the TSA has certainly got some work to do, I think to achive the holy grail of security sucess set by Israel we would have to do so much more than just piss off the ACLU by asking too many people in Hijabs to open their bags. We would have to make sacrifices that the vast majority of us would be unwilling to make and probably shouldn't need to take.

The News recently report ho good the TSA was at stopping weapons getting passed them. Apprently a private contractor was hire to test test the TSA Agents , and the results were not good.

Like I said I do not fly, my passport was to go across the border to Mexico, and I don't do that no more. So I don't even have a passport.

Our POTUS is protected by people who understand security. The Secret Service. Real professionals, not for or rent-a-cops in new uniforms called TSA.
What's all this got to do with getting a lighter through TSA?
