Cedarwood and Guinnes soap.... yea I'm gonna have to try some of that :)

Thanks for the link.

I've now shaved three times with the SR, the second time I ended up looking like I ran through a rose bush lol. But the cuts never hurt and only seem to last for a day before its healed to the point of not really being noticeable.

Cheers :ccool:

Excuse my ignorance...but what is the advantage to shaving like this vs a Mach 3??

I have a beard and only shave my neck a few times a week so I don't imagine I'd enjoy it as much as someone who has more surface to shave.

I wouldn't say there is much advantage. I would think it would be more relaxing and more about setting aside the time for a long and proper shave. Kind of like you would do for a great smoke.

The only advantage I can think of is that eventually you would save money on razors and I can honestly say I save money on using shaving soap. That stuff lasts me a year and sometimes longer.

Rex pretty much nailed it for me, with taking some time out on a sunday night, doing something relaxing before bed. Last sunday I sat smoked a cigar and had some scotch, then went up and shaved and went to bed. Ended up being about two and a half hours of quiet time. Supposedly once you get the hang of it it's a closer shave than a cartridge razor, but I haven't got there yet. I guess there could be some cost savings in the long run if you buy one razor and use it for the rest of your life, unless you're like me and tend to collect things. I already have three different razors, though two are old razors I bought to attempt to restore to shave condition. There's also the excitement of knowing that if you really screw up you just might die :stretchgr

Cheers :ccool:

One of these days I am gonna get a beginners setup for myself. Already have a soap dish and badger brush. I just need a razor and strop.

I'm definitely getting a closer shave than I was before. But there are still a couple spots on my neck that are hard to get the right angle on with such a long blade. I've bought several more accessories and soap samplers, I don't think this will be a money saving venture for me any time soon lol. Shaving has become a hobby though, I've got a pretty good want list going.

Sorry for the late reply, works had me wrapped up pretty tight lately.

That's where I've got my last couple soaps, I really like everything I've gotten so far. It's a little more work to get a good lather with theirs but not enough to put me off of it.
