First of all, happy (pre) birthday!
I loved my 30s. It wasn't all puppies and unicorns (I divorced during that decade, lost a job due to a lyoff, etc.) but I was far better equipped to deal with it. People started treating me like an adult and not a "college kid", etc. So, enjoy it.
As for setting goals, that's not a bad idea but I like to follow the advice of the bike community: A young bike chooses a destination and goes. An old biker chooses a direction and goes.
I guess what I am trying to say is to dare to dream, map out the journey to that dream, but make sure you're open to change and willing to see the small things happening along the way. On the motorcycle, if I drove past a small town's fair, I always stopped. I've met some great people, enjoyed some of the oddest stuff that small-town America can offer, and more.
