Sorry to hear about your loss of goods. I would throw someone a serious beatin' if I caught someone taking a package off my porch. If it starts happening more than once I consider rigging a camera inside facing toward the mailbox to take images of movement. Hunting trailcams work great.

I purposefully only have deliveries to my office for this reason it's not delivered if they can't walk in the door....... Nobody even knows my home address

Or mail yourself a nice active track able GPS, and log in and see where it goes- send the police along to retrieve it for you.

This is why I have most things mailed to my work address.

When we go on vacation we fill out the yellow " hold Mail" card. Half of the time when we return our mailbox is stuffed to over flowing with mail, packages literally sitting on the ground next to the box. I confronted our mail carrier one time and asked why he would continue to stuff mail into the box, crumpling and folding it so it fit, when clearly we weren't home. "I don't know, I must not have gotten the card".

One of many reasons email is crushing traditional postal delivery. I got an empty envelope that was stamped "contents lost in shipping" and was amazed. You know there is a problem that that happens often enough to need a stamp.
