I had been winning at the tables and wanted to treat myself to a whole box, but he said he couldn't sell me a whole box of them because I wasn't a regular customer.
Is this standard? I mean...I can see both sides of the argument, but as far as I'm concerned if you're a retail store and have "x" product for sale - ship it to the first guy that's willing to pay the price that you're asking no?

He is, and unfortunately has those ridiculous Canada jerseys hanging on the wall...lol
haha I noticed that right away too, which was part of the reason I wanted to check it out!

I agree....If i am willing to pay full price per cigar there is no reason to not sell me as many as i want. I mean that is the goal of a business is to make money. But I guess in the long run for him, he might make more money by keeping his regular customers happy by keeping hard to find cigars in stock.

Vegas is a HUGE TOURIST TOWN.. not the same as a shop anywhere else.
Those high rollers can afford to buy whatever they want in whatever quantity
is available... U know?

Casa is a really beautiful shop with beautiful women..fits in very nicely with the other ridiculously priced shops in the Forum Shops. It's an experience.

The issue with selling everything is the tourists are not the people who keep this establishment open, its the locals in this case. They do sell on the internet, but that is not their core business, it's the locals business. If every time I went into this cigar shop to buy and smoke a cigar and they were out of my favorites, I would stop going there and find somewhere else to spend my money. It is no different than those shops that put a limit on the number of HTF sticks that you can purchase at a time. There are cigars that they carry that they only carry because 1 person likes to smoke those when he comes in, imagine if he sold them all to someone else and that guy came in and his cigar wasn't there? They just lost that cigar purchase plus the extras that he usually buys because of it. Sounds like smart business practice to me. Keep the people who keep you in business happy and accommodate the rest as much as possible.

Yeah. I'm something of a regular there (though I haven't been in the store for a while), and Paul tends to keep the locals who frequent the shop in mind when parceling out the boxes and the sticks (like the Black and Red Tubos) so everyone can get a fair share.

Just playing devils advocate, but if you buy "x" amount for your regular customer(s) then store it elsewhere. Put the full box up on a high shelf or in a locker and just have a few singles on the shelf.

If it's on a shelf, in plain view, with a price tag on it - it's for sale as far as I'm concerned.

btw-what's an "HTF" stick?

I can see that point of view for the HTF sticks but these tubos are readily available just about everywhere now and below msrp...and no taxes over the internet. Personally that would have upset me and I would have left with nothing. I would then go to Casa Fuente and spend that same coin I was going to spend on the box of tubos. I know I would only get like two or three smokes with that though and maybe a drink. haha Still makes for a good time. Personally I know when I go to Vegas I'm willing to spend my money pretty easily so you better be willing to take it.

The allotment for Tatuaje products isn't as it seems, just because NHC and other vendors seem to have an endless supply, doesn't mean all the other stores that carry Tatuaje products also get that endless supply. I believe that Pheasants has only gotten in about 4 boxes of each tubos, and that wasn't because they only ordered 4 boxes of each. From the way I understand it they place and order and kind of hope they get part of that order, especially on brown labels.

Illusione on the other hand seems to be more easily attainable, which I am glad as I find my tastes moving in that direction.

Guys keep on mind even Casa Fuente has limits on some sticks (BTL, AF 13, DC Lancero, Scorpion etc.). It is just good business, why sell all of your sticks to one customer and piss everyone else that wanted one, when you know the sticks are in demand.

Late notice I know, but that's how it goes traveling with two young kids...Wife and I are going to check out Pheasant this afternoon probably around 2, then will be at Casa Fuente somewhere around 7pm if anybody's in town. I'll be wearing my khaki pants and a black golf shirt with white/red stripe. If you're around, please stop by and introduce yourself.

Thanks for your tips guys, looking forward to picking up a couple boxes today...

Brent
