Smoked one of these yesterday...all I can say is WOW!

This was one of the most flavorful cigars I've ever had. Rich roasted cashew/hazelnut/almond, hints of cocoa powder and nutmeg.

I put this one in my top 3 cigars!

VR's seem to fry under the radar. You don't hear much talk about them. So it's good to see this thread.

I like the entire line and prefer VR's to some of the more popular Marcas out there.

I too am happy to see talk of the VR... the Famosos is easily one of my favorites. (Though they are all quite good actually.. The Unicos are another great one that flies under the radar!)

My first was a Fam. from 08 I think (did a review here)--leather and cherry iirc, really nice. I have some from 09 but they're not ready yet. Definitely a marca I'd like to explore further.

I've found them to be too floral, but definitely a quality marca
Blasphemy! I always say VR Unicos and Famosos are the most under-rated CCs on the planet. Try one from 06 or 08 Matt!
I have to agree..alot of floral-ness to me as well. But I haven't had one with alot of age on it so that may be the key...I dunno!

It was the Unicos he had, one of my top Cubans!
I have two resting, very much looking forward to trying it. Everything I've heard about the flavor profile suggests to me that I'll like them even better than the Monte #2.

Just got a box of Unicos. I have never had them but love the Famosos, so I am guessing by all the good reviews that I will be happy.
They are from Apr '11, and WOW are they dark wrappers !! They are as close to maduro as it gets in my opinion. I was going to have one tonight just to try out, but got into BF3 and went down that rat-hole...

Ironically it was one night on BF3 that you told me how good these were, I'm going to make sure I pick up a few of these to try the next time I get the chance.

I did open up the box and dig into 2 of them, and gave away 2 others. These sticks are fantastic right now, and can see them developing into a chocolaty/rich stick later in years. I am going to have an EXTREMELY hard time keeping my hands out of this box.
