Vegas Robaina...WOW!

I was gifted a 97 VR Famoso and I found it to be one of my top 5 smokes I've ever had the pleasure of having. It was very complex and the flavors just were unique and balanced and delicious. VR's with age are a thing of beauty.

This thread has me wanting to revisit a couple boxes that have been resting for 6 or 7 years now.
I think I am correct in saying that Don Alejandro used to produce wrapper leaves for Cuban brands, and then started the Vegas Robaina line in 1997......Cool story!

Agreed. Would rather have Unicos or Upmann #2s than any other piramide, Cuban or otherwise. Though Diplos are close. Hmm...maybe I just love piramides.

the Unico is my best. man they used to come with very dark wrapper and they used to smoke like a dream.
