All right gents, here's the deal. I'm about to book a trip to Vegas for our 10th aniversary in April. I've got our reort nailed down to the Bellagio or the Mirage. We've stayed at the Mirage before and really enjoyed it. I like the Bellagio but have never stayed there. We'll probably spend a good chunk of the day relaxing at the pool and I can't find ,ugh online about the pool at the Bellagio. I've got a screaming deL at the Mirage which puts the Bellagio at about 3 times the cost..... has anyone stayed at the Bellagio? Any input would be great! Thanks guys!

I go to Vegas 4-6 times a year. Always stay at a MGM property. belaggio is very nice hotel, rooms are meh. I stay at Mirage a lot. Rooms are much more up to date. Since it's your anniversary you might want to check out Vdarra. Rooms there are top notch. New White Castle is open directly across the street from Mirage so that's a bonus

Mirage also has Rumbar

Last time I was in Vegas we stayed at Mandalay Bay. Loved it! Great room, great pool, food, service etc. There are two cigar friendly places there too. The Foundation Room & the brand new 1923 Bourbon & Burlesque. I've stayed at the Mirage too and like it. Bellagio is too much on my wallet. I thought we were like royalty at Mandalay Bay. ..had some fantastic meals there too.

I second the Mandalay Bay. Great rooms, pool, service, everything is updated. They offer pretty goods rates if you look around. Not cheap, but it's your 10th anniversary so very much worth the money.

Not sure what info you are looking for regarding the Bellagio pool, but Google Image search is your friend. "Bellagio pool" pulls up all the images you need to see. If pools are important, do a search of "best pools in las vegas" and go from there. Vegas is like cigars, everybody has opinions and no one is right. lol

I haven't looked at Vdarra yet. We did look into Aria and prefer the location of the Mirage and Bellagio. Like you we usually stay at one of the MGM Resorts. I'll check out Vdarra, I'm not so worried about the price as much as if Bellagio is overrated. Are you just paying for the name when you get a better experience somewhere else.

Just checked out Vdara, looks awesome but it's smoke free......that won't work!!!!

For arguments sake my 4 nights at Mirage would be $160 plus resort fees.

I've stayed at the Bellagio, Aria, Cosmo, Mgm, and Mgm signature. The rooms were great the Sig. How ever the Aria and Cosmo win by far. Room at the cosmo had a balcony overlooking the Bellagio fountains. The only downside to the cosmo is the "business". So if you are not into that. The Aria is the ultimate hotel.

The good old 20$ sandwich trick secured me an upgrade to the crystals suite from a corner suite my last trip to the Aria. Beautiful room beautiful view. And electronic toilets lol

We were looking at Aria as well, about half the price of Bellagio.

Love the $20 trick!

I second the aria. Best hotel I've stayed in down there by far, but that is only comparing it to paris, planet hollywood, and cosmo.

Uhhhh, what am I missing?
At check in, you place a tip in between your credit card and ID. Ask if there are any complementary upgrades available. The size of the tip depends on the hotel, what room you have and rooms you potentially want. Upgrades are not guaranteed, however normally the tip is returned if no upgrade is available. I use it all the time and have always gotten a better room or view.

Now that's an upgrade!
For 4 nights too. We were there for my wifes sisters wedding for 5 nights. had to switch into the suite after the first night but i'm ok with that.
It also helps if you book throught the players club, rather than a wholesaler.

I definitely wouldn't mind changing rooms in that case. Especially with 4 nights in the new room. That's worth a $50 for sure. I'll usually book through Visa Signature. They guarantee an upgrade if availble anyway. I don't gamble enough to have many players club points. I can drink and party my ass off though lol.

I don't have much for points either, the guy at the desk last time told me they have way more leway if you have a booking directly through them, regardless of level.

On a different note I think from the reviews i'v read the Bellagio may be overrated. I think we'll end up at the Mirage. We really liked it last time we stayed there. Rooms are nice and the location can't be beat. For us at least. Take the $500 we didn't spend on a room at the Bellagio and get a killer steak dinner. Plus RHUMBAR!!!!!
