The complaint about the 2008 was the wrappers were thin. The flavor was still good, but some people claimed that they had issues with the wrapper. I enjoyed the ones that I smoked and sitting on some still.

I have not had the 2008 but from what I seen in this forum and others is that the 2008 was great but a few had wrapper problems. According to Pete the 2009 should not have that issue because of the thickness of the 2009 wrapper leaf crop. Just my .02

I agree with that statement, but I did not get any of the 2008s so I am willing to go out on a limb for this one.

I will buy this soon. I smoked a Verite over the weekend after not touching them for months and what a great smoke. Regardless of the fact that it split to the band. Best smoke of 2011 for me.

Yep at $7.50 and $6 I could deal with the wrapper splitting but at these prices and above I'll stay away.

We smoked quite a few of the 09 Churchills & Robustos in Nica last year, I even smoked the 08 & 09 churchills at the same time to compare. IMO, the V09 is one of the greatest sticks to ever come from Pepin & Pete. I'll take some more of that 'kool-aid' any day of the week.
