Viaje post from this afternoon...

UPDATE - VIAJE is now 100% small batch. ORO and PLATINO will now be rolled in short runs to ensure quality and consistency. In addition, both will now feature a primary and secondary band.

Thank you to all who participated in the White Label Project. Due to all of your feedback STUFFED TURKEY will now be added to the slate for Thanksgiving 2012. The first WLP of 2012 will be releasing soon. Stay tuned....

Interesting. Sounds like it might be harder to source the regular lines now too?

Interesting.....of course, I still haven't found anyone that is super close that stocks these. So I will hold off. Too many smokes and not enough time!

Federal has some stuff left. I know it's not super close but it's close enough.

Where are you in MA Jay? John Brandt at Old Firehouse is always well stocked with Viajes. And Paul at Mr J's Havana shop in West Warwick always has a lot of Viaje around as well. Or if youre closer to NH like somebody already said Federal stocks Viaje and so does Castros Back Room in Nashua.

As for him saying everything is now "Small Batch". Im not sure how I really feel about that. Especially when taking a cigar that was regular production and going a step backwards in production. When I think of Small Batch I think of cigars that are rolled in limited quantities because of a lack of tobacco that is used to create that blend. At this point I think its pretty hard for Andre to convince everyone that a lack of tobacco is the reason he is releasing 50 LE's a year. But I guess technically if you want to take the definition of small batch as literal as possible then I suppose Viaje fits the bill.

Not a real big fan of Viaje stuff, but I still do enjoy the Holiday Blends and I hope they still get made.

Hopefully that means what they do make is ready to smoke when I buy it and not 6 months l8r.
LMFAO. I do agree. I for one enjoy a lot of Viaje (with 6 months of age). Never had a problem finding any either. Glad most of you guys don't smoke em and now if I could only get you to stop smoking Tat LE's and Ligas I would be much happier.

Seriously? How can you say a cigar you mass produced is now becoming a small batch cigar? I am an admitted Viaje Whore and I have gone out of my way to find them, buy them, trade for them, and sell body organs for them. Neither of these lines were on my radar. They are ok but not as good as the others. Not sure if this is a ploy to sell more since they sit on the shelves or maybe increase demand because Oh no now they are hard to find.

I am on a buying freeze and with the upcoming 50 limited edition, triple banded, ultra rare, selling out in 90 seconds, one time only, Castro approved, micro batch of a micro batch cigars coming from them I just don't think I want to play this game anymore. So many good things coming out from other manufacturers and you know what ANDRE? If I like them they have more so I can continue smoking them.

Don't get me wrong I still want the upcoming Viajes but I will not sell my soul to get them anymore. If I find them cool. If not, just wait for next week because at least 5 more cigars will be released.

I agree with this. To me its marketing. Make the cigars more elusive, throw on another band for the apperance of exclusivity and possibly charge more or know the cigars will not sit on shelves like regular viaje.

Seems a way to leverage more sales by creating the appearence of small batch exclusivity.

The WLP and S&B seemed to do well under this methodology?

Do all this under the cloak of quality control.

Bottem line I do enjoy Viaje and will continue to seek out the lines/blends I enjoy. Andre is certainly turning into a micro batch type of producer IMHO,

my 2 cents
