Sorry to hear it Rick. At least you got notice though ... at my company they told us + then they asked us to pack up and leave.

The job market is picking up a little and you do have 93 weeks of UI if you need it, so hopefully this will just be a nice holiday vacation for ya.

Best of luck!

So sorry to hear of this Rick. I know it is easy for us to say hang in there as most of us are not in your shoes but one thing I have learned is that when one door closes another will open. Instead, be thankful for what you DO have and pray that a better opportunity than the one before is provided. We too will remember you in our prayers.

Thanks everyone for all the good wishes, prayers and support. We have a great group of thoughtful and caring people here and it is a real moral booster for me.

I know there are a few bothers here that have been out of work for a long time and my thoughts and prayers still go out to them.

I’ve been down the layoff road before but this has been an exceptionally bad year for us and we’ve exhausted any funds to fall back on so unless something comes up quickly which I don’t see right now I don’t know what’s going to happen, so please keep those prayers coming.

Again, thank you for the support and let’s hope and pray that 2010 turns out to be a good year for all who are hurting.

Hang in there. Last April, after 24 yrs on the job, my job was cut due to a company merger. They let a co-worker go who was there since he got out of school 35 yrs ago! Now no one wants us because we are considered too old (50 and 56) and have too much experience. Just do what I do, look for a new position, enjoy a smoke, dont sweat it, and remember that it is their loss. Good Luck, and hold your head high! One door closes and another will open!

Sorry to hear this, another brother unemployed. I have been out a month already and the market is slim. Hopefully with economy trying to turn around, the jobs will be coming back. Good luck!:ccool:
