That's horrible. Did anyone else around your apartment get hit? good thing it happened while you were out. I don't know what id do if my son and wife were ever put into a situation like that.

Wow that's awful. I have no patience for people that would do that.

On the upside, some guys I know on another board are planning a herf in Memphis this upcoming weekend. Meet up with us somewhere and I'll bring you some smokes.
I would love to come by, and if I can spare the time and money I will get by there. It would be great to meet some brothers from the board. Y'all drop me a line and let me know where this will happen and I'll see what I can do.

Lucky they were with me, if not I my son may have been coming to visit daddy in the slammer if I'd caught the guy.

There were a string of robberies that weekend and there were a few that night too but they aren't sure yet if they were related or not. I'm hoping they catch them, but here the odds are severely stacked against me. They usually don't find them.

^^^This 110%^^^ I hope your insurance covers it without issue and the scumbags are caught quickly.
Insurance is covering the cost of just about everything, but it's the time it's gonna take to get the adjuster out, missing a couple days work, thankfully I won't be docked for it, and the out of pocket costs that are a pain in the ass, but it could be a lot, lot worse. I'm just fortunate for what I have this morning. My finace, son and life.

Really sorry to hear, man. I hope the insurance takes care of you.

And when you are reporting and itemizing everything that was lost to the insurance company, don't forget to mention the cash that was also taken.......

Sorry to hear this, it is an awful feeling to lose things you have worked for. Glad you and the family are safe and glad you had insurance.

Maybe the tire blowing out was a blessing man..... Sorry you got robbed, but probably best you didn't walk in on it.....

Good luck , God Bless, and happy belated father's day...

Damn, very sorry to hear man. I was actually anticipating reading a punchline to the joke at the end but sadly realized it was no joke... sorry brother. Like others have said, just look at the positive that these fuggers didn't come in the middle of the night catching you off guard with the family there...

Hearing about burglaries just pisses me off too... when I was fresh out of college and moved to SoCal, I was living in a shitty rental that got broken into and some of my stuff was stolen. I think I came home when they were still there because some good stuff was still left right next to other things that was taken. I thought they would be coming back so I threw out a bunch of aluminum cans and other things that would make noise by the back door area. For the next 2 weeks, when I came home after work (usually dark out) I parked a few houses down where they couldn't see any cars coming and walked around to the back door to try and catch the bastards coming back for the leftovers. So after doing this 2 weeks straight and no one coming, I figured they weren't coming back. Sure enough, the 1st night I didn't park down the road... I parked in front of my place and took a minute to gather my things in the car. As I was getting out of my car, I heard a bunch of clanging noise from the back and thought holy shit, they are getting away! I ran around to the back and sure enough the back door was open and they were gone... with the rest of my good stuff that they found!?! I was so friggin pissed!!! Never caught the bastards even after police taking fingerprints.

Man that's awful! You were that close but so far! Honestly I don't know what would have happened if it had been the middle of the night and we were there. I do have a firearm but I carry it on me every time I leave the house. So I didn't have to worry about that being taken. Honestly I was scared to death walking up the steps and to the door. I had no idea what or who I was gonna see. I'm glad no one was there.

Needless to say we told them we are ending our lease instead of renewing. I know nowhere is truly safe, but I gotta do something.
