The coals are in a Vortex, a stainless steel cone that sends up extremely high heat in the middle, then the kettle lid sends the heat evenly around the grill. The food is cooking on an Arteflame 22” grate insert. Killer combination, great for wings, burgers, and even lobster tails!

I’m considering making one of those arteflame inserts. I have the rough skill set to do it easily. Time tends to be a pain. Have an excellent metal yard very close by. If I do make one I’ll post it up. Bought a knockoff vortex made from stainless.

A take and bake on the grill is ALWAYS worthy!! Hell, I’ve thrown frozen pizzas on the grill to great success!
