It really all depends on who it is. If its a true BOTL that really enjoys cigars ill probably give him something good, or whatever im smoking. If its someone who dosent really know much about cigars ill probably hand him something cheaper. I dont keep cigars that are intended to be handed out to "newbies". All the cigars that i keep in my humi are cigars i enjoy smoking.

It really depends on the night. If we are all drunk then I pull out the crap sticks, that includes one for myself since by that point most of the taste buds are not working so well. But if we are just hanging out I try to give them something good.
Pretty much says it for me. A couple of weeks ago I made the mistake of giving a buddy an Oliva # 4... he's a smoker, but when drunk you really can't appreciate any cigar.

I would image we're all the same.... if you appreciate cigars then you can have pretty much whatever is my humi, but if you could care less about cigars you're getting a cheapo stick.

Same here if you are my friend my humi is open to you. But on that note. I do keep some "special" sticks around for those who are at some of the b&ms I go to that are well known
Moochers.

If they don't have any cigar experience, I tend to hand them something mild/medium, and generally speaking, no vitola bigger than a robusto.

But if my friend has any experience at all with cigars, they're welcome to anything they'd care to smoke... That said, though, when my buddy came through town a couple of weeks ago and started waving my triple flame torch around in an effort to "warm the wrapper" on his Padron 45, I got a little upset.

You have to be a good friend to be invited over then a cigar smoker to touch my humidors. As long as you meet those 2 criterias you are welcome to any smokes you find in my humi and all the liquor you can drink. Well... maybe except some limited CCs I got hiding...
Ditto!!!!

I typically dont give access to my humi to anyone.

I ask them if they want a cigar, and I give them a selection of some cigars that I think they might like.

If they are a cigar smoker, then I've got a great LFD selection. If they only smoke one or two a year, I've got a variety pack of Oliva cigars and between the O, G and Vs there is something I can find that people will like.

I used to keep cheaper sticks in the humi for this exact occurrence but when I got my big cabinet I stopped doing that. Depends on the person as to what I give them now. If they smoke regularly they have pretty much free reign on my humi. If they just smoke when at my house, most likely a Short Story or something similar.

I dont have a lot of "Friends" and prefer it that way. Most of my buddys all smoke cigars and as long as someone can appriciate the cigar i dont mind handing them out. But I do have a couple buddys that would smoke a dog turd and tell you it was good if it came out of a humidor, they get some rebranded swisher perfectos ! ha.
