You still using the popcorn popper? I really don't need another hobby, but fresh roasted coffee looks so good!
Thanks guys. Yes I'm still using the popper but not for long! It works great just can't do large quantities at one time. I also would like more control over roast time and temp. For the 20.00 I spent it's been a great way to start this roasting stuff.

For $25 I went with the Whirly Pop stovetop popper and it's still very manual but I can control my time and temps now as well as roast a pound at a time. For anyone considering the hobby it's definitely a great starting point. I burned up a few air poppers before I found that out

After a year without coffee (former home roaster) due to my caffeine allergy, I've been playing with some of the new decafs on the market. 3 weeks and so far no allergy problems. Tried some Swiss Water Process (Canadian plant) and some of the Mountain or Royal Water Process coffees from the new state of the art Mexican plant. The Canadian stuff is good, but dang, the stuff coming out of the Mexican plant tastes like full caffinated coffee.

Right now I'm buying from Fresh Roasted Coffee LLC, as they are one of the few offering Africans from the Mexican plant. Mixing it up between Sumatra Mandheling and Ethiopian Sidamo. Both exceptional. Maybe I'll open that bag of Indian Monsooned tomorrow.

I found a couple suppliers of interesting green decaf beans processed at the Mexican plant, so a few more weeks with no allergy problems, and I'll be grabbing a replacement Behmor 1600.

Just Folger's.

But... My wife came home yesterday from shopping. I asked her what she bought. One of the things she said was "Some new coffee mugs. They were on clearance."

WTF is that? Like an owl with no beak or something? Nightmare fuel for sure.

Some single origin from Rwanda that was home roasted by @Wicket and generously bombed to me. Joe, I can't thank you enough. This roast is absolutely perfect and your samples will hold me over until I can order some more green coffee to roast. I have been out for a bit and the store bought stuff just doesn't do it for me anymore.
