Thats a good call. I forgot about the heads up and pre-order info on BOTL cigars. That alone is worth a mere $10. Speaking of which I'm hoping we're not far removed from another release of these wonderful sticks. One can hope right? You also get the heads-up when special stuff happens... like when a BOTL stick comes out. Usually there is a pre-sale or something. You also get to be eligible for certain things... contests, yadda yadda...
one place isThese BOTL sticks must be good as much praise as they are getting.
So how do I get one?
Do I gotta be a member for a certain amount of time?
The pdr this year is a really nice stick. I'll be smoking the de pretty soon and I am looking forward to itBOTL sticks are made by 2 companies: PDR and Drew Estates. Both sticks are produced in extremely limited quantities and are made exclusively for BOTL members out of the goodness of these companies hearts basically. So far the sticks released by these companies have been big hits within our community on the board here and within the greater cigar community and have been well reviewed by places such as halfwheel.com and deservedly so.
And to answer your questions, there are two ways to get these sticks:
1. Purchase them when they become available. This option is only available to BOTL members who donate, which you can't do immediately. So yes, you have to be a member for a certain amount of time, which I believe is a few months (someone else might know the exact amount of time.) Then, you get a heads up on the date and time of the release before hand so that we can exclusively pre-order these sticks before they hit the open market. Last year, the first DE release, which was a corona gorda sold out of the mere 100 boxes produced in just a few hours. The second DE release, a corona, managed to stay up for a couple days with the slightly larger release size of 200 boxes. Both sticks were great and deserved the all the praise they received. PDR also released a redux of a stick they made back in 2010 for the site which is smoking excellently right now, though I couldn't tell you how many boxes they produced off the top of my head.
2. Stick around here, be a contributing member of the community, participate in some BOTL shenaningans and then you might get hit back with something nice like a BOTL stick. You can also wait a while and the buy/sell forum will open up and you can put up an ISO. I feel that it's pertinent to mention that non contributing members have approximately a 0% chance of getting a HTF and in demand stick like the DE BOTL sticks sent to them via an ISO.
I will further add that these sticks are created exclusively for our community and in particular contributing members. Many individuals on this board take it quite personally when members start to show up around the time these are released and start asking questions about how to get them, as those individuals are not the intended recipients of these cigars.

Thanks for all the info.
To be honest, I knew next to nothing about the BOTL cigars other than they existed.
I really had no intentions on joining just to obtain one.
The other members brought the subject up so curiosity got the best of me.
Thanks again for all the info.
Hey, no worries and I meant no offense. I just wanted to fill you in on a bit of etiquette regarding these sticks as it will help you avoid being flamed. Last year there were a handful of members that showed up right around BOTL stick time and started asking a buncha questions about acquiring them. That went over about as well as a loud smelly fart during a funeral, and some members got pissy about it. I figure a little knowledge goes a long way and since we were on the subject I wanted you to be properly equipped to know whats up is all. Welcome to the community and enjoy your stay!I gotcha.

Whoa whoa whoa! There are plenty of perks just being able to call you guys friends having someone to talk to hear we always listen to your problems and try to make it better so ya there is plenty of perks maybe just not the kind he was looking for. Again my favorite perk is being able to call all you azzhats friends! 😆It is a $10 minimum and you have to be part of our fair community for a few months. It's really just a small way of showing appreciation to the guys who keep this place running. As far as perks go, there aren't many but there are coupon codes from a few site sponsors that you can use for being part of the fun and knowledge around here.
