What an excellent thread to bring back from the grave!
I have always favored the non-billboard style of bands. I think that the warped Maestro del Tiempo band is a thing of perfect beauty. The little hit of clear coat over the magenta section to give it the illusion of being a jewel set in an elegant band of gold, enhanced by the subtle embossing and two tiny good protrusions that mimic a ring's prongs that would hold a jewel. The fineness of the type is so wonderful. It is just such a beautiful piece of design.
Honorable mention goes to the Sobremesa. The way they matched the wrapper's color in the negative space, making it look like it has intricate die-cut sections is a perfect offset to the prominent embossing. Classy and simple, yet intricate.
