Google search. When I was getting back into cigars for the umteenth time a couple years ago, a simple google search.

I remember looking at Puff, I signed up at cigar pass, and I signed up here.

I'm not a big social media type, so it was easy to see where I wanted to be. A place with minimal drama and where the more senior members aren't always cutting other people down.

Right here.

Thanks BOTL!

I was introduced to this great forum from a good friend of mine CW @cschwalbe while we were at our local B&M and conversing over some smokes. I did creep for a while before signing up since I didn't know what I was getting myself into, but honestly I wouldn't have it any other way. I was introduced to many different cigars and libations which I probably never would've tried prior to joining. I feel a little more experienced with CC game especially pointing out fakes, although I still have A LOT to learn about them. Many of you here have become great friends of mine too. It's been a great and slippery slope!

I was a member at Puff since 2009 I think. Had a lot of posts on there and knew a bunch of people. Then the place went to absolute shit so I jumped ship (after they banned all the cool people) and started looking around. Found this place and have been hanging around since! I love BOTL!

2014 Las Calaveras and the birth of my birth of my daughter were the stating points of my path to BOTL. I had recently stumbled upon the LC14 at my local B&M while thinking about what box to pick up for when my daughter was born. Smoked a LC14, loved it, and went on Google to read more about this smoke I had never heard of. Ended up picking up a box to share with my cousins and uncles once my daughter was born. I also looked at some photos people had posted on Instagram of the stick.

Prior to this point I had smoked cigars very casually for 10 years or so (Redskins tailgates and family get togethers). My cigar universe was very small - I pretty much only smoked CAOs, NC montecristos, RyJ, and Padrons. Looking at the Instagram photos of the LC14, I thought "what is this BOTL hashtag I keep seeing? What's BOTL mean?" Please don't make too much fun of me, I told you my cigar universe was small lol. I google BOTL, found the site, and my cigar universe and knowledge exploded. With all the information on here and brotherhood (ball busting), I was instantly hooked.

Dammit, you took my answer. Found this place while trying to learn more about cigars in general. Then I found out there were way better cigars than what I had been smoking. Then it turned into Clark Griswold sliding down a hill on a metallic saucer, if ya know what I mean.

Always wound up at various forums when researching sticks to try and gaining knowledge for my obses....I mean hobby. None of the forums really resonated as a place I wanted to contribute to and be a part of until I stumbled across BOTL. I will admit, I sometimes venture back out to others as sometimes the cigar I am looking for feedback on or topic I am researching isn't elaborated on within the posts here. But, this place has the right foundation and structure that fosters quality mature insight into every nook of this hobby (with some much needed immaturity sprinkled in from time to time) and what appears to be (I am still pretty new here) a quality group of people focused on sharing their obses.....I mean hobby with anyone who walks in the door.

I joined a golf forum in 2007 when I was playing a lot and we used to talk cigars quite a bit. There was only a small group of us, about 10 or so, and the non-smokers would complain about us starting new cigar related threads. There originally was a cigar forum but after all the complaints it got to a point where they merged all the cigar threads and relegated us to just using that one thread. One of the members there was also a member here (@Gummi Bear), and when I asked about cigar forums he recommended this one. I had actually come across BOTL quite a bit in my google searches about cigars/humidors etc... I lurked for a few months to check it out and decided to join in late 2008.

google...

Someone gifted me a cigar (dont even recall what it was at this point).. I had been smoking for 15+ years before finding this site.. but for the most part had stuck to "big" brands from Altadis, General, etc.. and had an occasional fuente or padron... so I was curious about what the cigar was or how it would profile.. and found BOTL by accident..
