Been a while since I have enjoyed a good bowl. Just got my review at work and found out I'm getting a raise and a bonus. I see a shiny new ar-15 in my future... To celebrate I dusted off my favorite VA dedicated pipe (cheap no-name Greek briar) and pulled out a half flake of Sam Gawith Full VA Flake from 2010 with thanks to AndySC83. The white spot on the lower left corner of the flake there is beautiful crystallized plume. This stuff is so damn good. Time to make an order and try to hide it from myself for 5+ years.

Edit: My google-fu tells me the crystals forming are referred to as "bloom" with pipe baccy and is common with VA baccy, especially FVF. It was an exceptional smoke.

I've "Gott" your futile and raise you a 5 gallon Homer Mashtun bitch! Including a More beer domed fb. Bring it on!

If you'd "like" I have a spare mashtun needing a good home. You said that you needed a few things to start brewing again. Barely used, mostly as a hot liquer tank.
You are a bully!! Damn, can't a guy just kick someone in the nuts without getting kicked back around here??

So it's an investment in my liver
Absolutely. Plus, brewing for me is my "me time" where I can enjoy my favorite things: booze and baccy! It's a rush when you can create something yourself that is just as good or better than something you can go to the store and buy. If you enjoy hoppy beer, having it fresh is best and the home brew market has more unique hops available than the commercial brewery market and you can make some crazy good stuff once you get the basics.
