3 bowl day. I finished off the Capstan Blue. I think it’s much better rubbed out as that’s what I did in the last two bowls. Using the fold and stuff makes it too full bodied. When rubbed out there were a lot of nuances that weren’t there in full Flake form. Now that’s gone I pulled an old jar of Fillmore (2008) out. Going in based on the tin note I knew it had Perique and Va in it but also smelled dark fired in it. Or I thought dark fired because I don’t have many Latikia blends. The first few puffs were dry, earthy, musky like orientals. And I tasted dark fired. I looked it up on tobaccoreviews and while listed as a VaPer there are several mentions of Latikia which may be. It smoked very slow and will dry it a bit more next time. The Rh is also ~80% out here which may have contributed.
