Damn my job can be stressful, especially at the end of the quarter. I guess that if I complain I would just sound like everyone else, but I am finding it more and more difficult to deal with the increasing levels of pressure and stress that result from my desire to be able to afford what I consider to be a decent quality of life.

Anyone else wish they could take a "vacation" and go work at a fast food joint for a while?

Stop whining like a little girl...

and trust me the last thing you want to go do is work at a Fast Food joint for a week you would kill somebody, i am just thankful that I am out of the restaurant industry.. as much as I can hate my job, compared to anything in food it is great..
and I did food for 8 years, from Chick-Fil-A to two 4 star restaurants, to club/bar scenes.. you are better off trust me

Stress is the silent killer. I think more folks are affected by stress and their search for relief / escape each year than all diseases combined.

Best time to look for a new job is when you are already working. Plenty of work out there - so maybe it's time for you to move on. Maybe try a different career?

put myself thru college waiting tables. took a substantial pay cut when i joined the force. went back to wait tables on the side,,, could not do it! not a spec of patience left for that!!

as for now, i know what you mean about the end of the quarter. my workload is expotential, with the kids who know they're going to fail trying to get everyone else in the same boat! two more days till spring break! woohoo!!!

I started carrying this in my briefcase...

Don't get me wrong - I like my job, my industry, and my career, of which I should probably be more appreciative (in regard to Clay's comment). It's just kind of... overwhelming... at times. I know - just like everyone else.

i think unless you have a job like a cigar rep, your gonna have stress. no matter if you flip burgers, run a law firm, police the streets, or drive forklift. everyone in just about every job gets stressed from time to time. fortunatly, most of the time its nothing a stiff drink and a good smoke cant cure....

just my .02

He didn't really appreciate me talking about the benefits of 17 years of marriage, did he?

Oh Aaron, as far as stress goes, if you're not going postal then cowboy the fu*k up! J/K everybody has the days we want to cap someone's ass.

Stress is the confusion created by one's mind that overides the body's basic desire to choke the living shit out of some asshole who desperately deserves it.

You know, you make a very good point (at least indirectly). I typically function well in a high - stress capacity, and I actually like it to some degree. I guess the truth is that I'd probably miss the "edge" that results from pressure.

I guess that maybe I really don't have a lot to complain about. Now about your advocacy of marriage in the presence of the girlfriend...
