I also have this exact unit and like it very much. One recommendation I have is to rearrange the drawers so one is directly in front of the fan. This will help redirect the air flow to the top and bottom to provide better circulation and more even RH distribution. Congrats on the pick up!
Got the whynter at an auction (amazon return). Stole it for $120, but I took the risk that it may not function and the auction is as-is. Luckily for me, it was new in box and worked perfect. I bought the new air from craiglist. Paid $100 for it. Eventually I plan on making some shelves and drawers and then gifting it to my dad. The 2 are very similar. The housing is slightly different on the back side (2nd photo, new air is on the bottom). For reference I have just over 300 cigars in the whytner. It's packed but not well organized. You could get 400 if your boxes are well organized.

Literally just had the same conversation with my wife today. She's all in!
