Lots of good advise!! (And some hilarious advise in addition!)

I haven't had any severe depression in many years, but I do feel the 'tug' in these months: it usually makes me cranky with those close. I fight it with positive thinking & action: being mindfull of diet, excercise, vitamins, family & outdoor activities, etc.

Staying active and connected with good friends is the biggest factor in not 'sinking too low' for me.

I am actually reverse of that.. I love Wintertime.. the summer is when I get into a funk and down in the dumps.

Gotta agree with BGC try to find some winter hobbies that might help alot.
Same here. I can't stand summer time. Bring on the cold and overcast days for me.

Brandon, seeing that you like to fish now is the time to tie flies or build rods. That is what keeps me sane through winter. That and a trip to a tailwater or two.

i just like to try and change the routine a couple of times a week. i used to get sorta stuck in a rut. now i try and do different things, open gym basketball, go out to dinner, read a book, happy hour once a week, anything really to avoid the it's "five o'clock, dark outside, cold, lay on the couch and watch TV" feeling

Winter sucks and the ONLY thing you can do about it is stay active.....get on a schedule and stick with it......this sounds silly but have a set bed time and a set wake up time- no naps and no food 2 hrs before bed

30 mins of activity a day - walking is great
