Hey, ducttape, have you tried revisiting pipes after you went back to just cigars for a while? I wonder if they would treat you better as an aside to your usual cigars, as opposed to having them more often.
What I have tried doing so far, I have smoked a pipe first thing in the morning, before anything else, after smoking a cigar, earlier in the day, not right before it, I have put the pipe down for a few weeks and tried revisiting it them. I have not been able to find the right time to do it. What I enjoy about a cigar is the texture of the smoke, if that makes sense, the thickness of it.

Now, what I enjoyed about the pipe is completely different. I enjoyed the routine. The packing, the light, the cleaning, the setting back into its spot for its next excursion. I also like that I can set everything up the night before, load the pipe, get the lighter and pipe tool. Wake up, head to work and smoke on the drive in.

What else I miss about the pipe, only have 20 minutes to smoke? Grab a pipe!

What I don't miss about pipes... You crazy bastards :)

GRRRRRRR! I'm so angry, i got my front door blown off today!

That is one sweet ass corn cob! And the on the bayou is my favorite so far. Never had the other one. Thank you Dave this won't be forgotten and is greatly appreciated.
That Viparti is a brand new blend by Russ Oulette and is a va/lat/per just like the On the Bayou. Hope you like it. When I started out I found a blend I like and then chased other blends with the same in it as my palette formed. Enjoy.

I'm excited to try it. Maybe even tonight! Got my kids coming any moment so hopefully I'll get a chance. That corn cob is going to be my new permanent morning smoker
