Well that would make sense. I just was in shock that it came to me so dry. And it seems like I have issues rehydrating. Unless I'm just dumb. Might just make a new thread or search for an older one and go from there on it. I don't want to derail this more than I already did......
Squirt some distilled water on a paper towel then lay the tobacco on that for a little bit, then pack your bowl and go to town. Or try smoking it dry first. I find I enjoy most baccy bone dry.

That's a nice haul there! Just curious...how was the tobacco when you opened it??? I purchased some a while back and it was bone dry.
It was dry but I like it ready to smoke, it's not bone dry but sometimes dry time bugs me. However I need to see if I like these as Bayou morning and night from there last sale was out of my wheelhouse.
I have read that most C&D is that way because they would rather sell you all tobacco that may be dry and you can rehydrate it rather than sell you 75% tobacco and 25% water. Or worse percentages
Yup!

The Ropp warden landed today...

Couldn't resist a pipe called Honore De Balzac!! Haha apparently it's a French authors name but to me it's just hilarious.

I'm umming and ahhhing whether I should gift this to my mate around the time of his wedding. Never had a warden before, probably a silly question but the stem doesn't seem to come off? Anymore force and I think it will break.. Is it possible it's not meant to come off or have I got a stuck stem?

Probably a stuck stem. Stick it in the freezer for a little while then try it. If it doesn't work stick it in a little longer. Do some research and see if it's a threaded stem also. Nice looking pipe tho.
