I like the soft bits, but they don't like me. Every time I have used one it make my jaw hurt like a sob! I just decided to man up and smoke without one..... My loss, I guess.....a utilitarian purchase

Tried that too. I don't understand my problem with them as I smoke cigars too and clench them quite a bit. My best guess is that I try to clench too heavy of a pipe which creates extra leverage and the soft bit increases the diameter which multiplies the force.... This new Sherlock Holmes Baskerville is a very comfortable chin sitter and works great for clenching as it does not exert too much force.Put them on backwards. More comfortable that way...
I see lots of pipes with tooth chatter on the stem and do not understand that as I never clench one tight enough to do that to a pipe. Looks painful!

Smokingpipes.com is my standard. But there's a ton of them out there. Pipesandcigars.com, 4noggins.com are a couple others that are good. Many more but the coffee hasn't kicked in yet

Smoking pipes and pipes and cigars are usually the best for deals, 4 noggins, cup o joes, and multiple others are good smaller shops
