Appreciate that! By basket I guess you mean packing? I did the 3-step pack, but it was too tight last night & I had to tend it more than I'd like. I need some practice. That tool came in handy though. I'm also going to need to set the blend I had out for a while next time as it was a little wet too, but I definitely enjoyed the flavor & aroma.

They were very helpful. It's not even 5 mins from my house, so I'm there fairly often. I've never heard of the other shop. Thanks for the heads-up!
Just a saying here in Aus... When there's something you might do but it's difficult it goes in the "too hard basket" and might never happen. But yeah it's all about the pack. Pack lighter if you take the 3 pack method literally it's too tight! It should still have some bounce but not be loose. I'd be happy to VHerf with you some time and talk you through it if you have google hangouts. Let me know and I'll work out a time. Any queries happy to help.

Ah! Wasn't hip to that saying. But I can give that offer a good 'ole cheers mate! I'll take you up on it if I keep having issues.

I figured I needed to grab some cobs for knock around pipes so I picked up a bag of the MM Seconds. Not a bad one in the bunch really .

and I ordered a mini-churcharden stem in tortoise from Log Cabin Pipeworks which came out awesome.

This could be a great way for someone just getting into the piper side to grab a rotation of pipes. With the replacement stem they will all smoke well and feel like a "normal" pipe, all for around $60.

You got that right, I've picked up 8 MM cobs over the past couple months along with 3 Forever Stems (and 3 more on order!). I love them and rarely smoke a briar anymore.
