What is the humidity in your personal humidors set at? A good portion of the threads here and on other boards are discussing what % they are at for their stash. So what do the people that blend and distribute the product say?

They don't rock a stash...
:stretchgr

J/K I would be curious to hear them chime in as I find both of their products smoke better a little drier (63-65%)

Pete told us down in Nicaragua that his prime Rh is 67/68%, especially for Tatuajes. I can't remember for sure if that's what he would do for all cigars, but he said he doesn't understand why people like a lower Rh for Tats and other similar cigars as he thinks it would dry out the oils too much. Said especially for broadleaf cigars, why dry them out?

Would it really dry them out that much?

Sent using smoke signals.
No. Maybe using the term "dry them out too much" isn't the best words to paraphrase, but he definitely said he thought it would take away the oils.

Take that with a grain of salt, that's his opinion. Many BOTLs (including me) keep their Rh at 65% and I haven't had any issues. I don't think my Tats are hurting one bit for having a little lower Rh.

I prefer my humidors to be between 65 - 67 - this has alot to do with the type of cigars that I prefer to smoke... cigars with heavy material and robust wrappers imo always smoke better a touch on the drier side.

The issue that we have as a manufacturer who has to ship the product and for retailers who have to store the product this is NOT ideal because the cigars are more delicate when the RH is lower.

Since I read Steve saying this on a previous thread months ago I have since dropped my RH from 70 to 67. Seems to be a bit better in my eyes.

I am definitely dropping the RH in mine when my current batch of Boveda packs runs out. I'm at 69% right now and the cigars are just too wet to burn consistently.
