the dr said it was a nerve, not the muscle. i would like immediate relief. he said chiropractor and/or massage won't do anything. has to get the inflammation down.

does anyone know differenlty?
He is right. Had same. It is aweful. Two weeks on NSAIDs and I could walk without a limp again. Then just take it easy.

Runs from your butt down the side of your leg right? Like your leg is on fire.

Hey Jeff, keep in mind that Prednisone will put some pounds on you fast! Also you have to ween yourself off of it. Feel better.

I sit on a tennis ball. On the side that hurts. Mine runs down to my ankle sometimes.

Trust Me!!!!

My Sciatic was f**ked this time last year. Meds and rest didn't do s**t. My dad gave me his "Blue Balls", and it helped IMMEDIATELY. My L4, L5, S1 were out of whack. After the balls relieved the pain, I saw a Chiro who adjusted me 3 days a week for a month.

The "Blue Balls" are similar to the tennis ball exercise. Both my right calf muscle and my right foot were gone. To be honest my toes are still whacked. Chiro said it would heal within the next year or two. If not, I sustained permanent damage.

I feel your pain brother, literally. Had the same thing early this year due to lots of daily lifting at work. Pain and anti-inflammatory meds, ice packs and lots of stretching exercises were needed before I was pain free. Took about 7 weeks.

Now I start every morning with 10-15 min of stretching and always pay attention to how I pick things up. Haven't had a problem since.

i'm a little peeved at the dr. take this pill and rest your back. what about ice? heat? chiro? massage? nope. so, that's what i've been doing. it's better, as i can walk. but that's about it. heading out for the weekend. fun fun.
