Trump is nice, no casino there, which may be good for you. Mandarin is also a 5 star without a casino, located in City Center with Aria. All the strip resorts have a resort fee. If you want to stay in a casino/resort without a resort fee you have to stay off strip, South Coast or Green Valley Ranch would be the closest to the strip without a resort fee that I would stay in.

Stay on the strip or you will pay the difference in taxi fares. I've personally stayed just about everywhere decent and not so decent. Venetian / palazzo is tops. Encore is second. I usually stat at mirage just because I like it there and it's close to casa and shopping.

My kids got married at the Mandalay Bay and I have stayed there a few times. Very nice package deal and nice rooms. Far end of the strip but has everything. Love the Venetian and the Bellagio is a favorite. Both can have deals or be pricey. Encore is nice but without the class of the Bellagio. Trump has some great suites and can be had on Priceline for a deal. No casino. Caesars is a coin toss some great room and some tired ones. Prefer the Bellagio and walk to Caesars for the spectacular restaurants.

Outide: Hoover Dam, Red Rock Canyon and Lake Mead are all very cool.

Congrats and have fun.

Encore, Wynn, Bellagio, Palazzo, Venetian, Aria or Cosmopolitan are the 5 star resorts. I personally like Wynn and Encore the best as far as the rooms are concerned, they have the best beds in the city, very comfortable. Rest of the casinos are just your average Vegas room. There really isn't much too see outside of the strip area, Hoover Dam, Red Rock Canyon and Valley of Fire, thats about it. Red Rock is a bunch of red rocks, valley of fire is similar and Hoover Dam is a big ass dam. Best way to see it all is take a helicopter tour and you will see all those and the Grand Canyon in a couple hours.
I'm a fan of Palazzo - all the rooms are suites and even the smallest are sizable by US resort standards. The shopping downstairs is nice (i.e. Barneys) and ties into the Venetian shopping. The restaurants are good (i.e. Cut). And you're relatively in the middle of everything (by which I mean you are a five minute walk to Casa Fuente).

I like the Venetian and the Palazzo. Nice rooms and a very nice environment. Also, as stated, short walk to Casa Fuente!

He wants to get married at the Little Wedding Chapel Craig ;)

Ben:

My wife and I eloped there years ago. We looked at a bunch of different places and settled on Treasure Island, not the pirate ship (though that would have been badass), but in their chapel inside, I thought it was the most tasteful of the 5 or 6 we looked at.

Good luck! I used priceline and got an AMAZING room at the Venetian for a little over 100/night. I don't think you'll get a crappy room there or at Bellagio and I used Priceline and kept it at 5 stars.

Regards,
Randy

I looked at priceline, either they dont have any good deals starting from march 20th or I just cant find them. Venetian was about 180 per night wich is what it cost at all the places I have looked at, I think that will be the one....have to search some more.

Venetian is a great choice. Best shopping and near everything.
Wynn/Encore even though it's next to Venetian/Palazzo, it's at the end of the strip and is a little farther from everything. Wynn rooms are nice and Encore suites are even better. For my money I would stay at Venetian. As said earlier all rooms at Venetian/Palazzo are suites. My wife's favorite is Palazzo.

Luxor and MGM are both average. Definitely not awful but just pretty standard. MGM has good restaurants. I'd stay away from nugget and monte Carlo.

Cosmopolitan is my new favorite. It's got a great vibe and a younger crowd than encore, Wynn, bellagio.

Luxor= complete shit hole. Wouldn't let my dog stay there
MGM is OK
Golden Nugget is in old vegas and a $35 cab ride to the strip
Monte Carlo is old dingy and dated. Also on the South end of the strip.

Cosmopolitan, Aria, Mandarin are all very nice.
