How do you do it correctly??
Windows open or cracked (sunroof if you have one and are on the highway), make sure your AC isn't on recirculate. Leave the windows cracked afterwards if you can.

The smell really isn't that bad. Next time you go to a hotel, swipe the single serving coffee and put one in your floorboard and you can smoke in a rental.

My friend does it all the time and never has an issue. Just don't smoke in the car on the last day.

For those worried about the smell get a can of Blue Coral Upholstery Cleaner. The stuff is $8 a can with a built in scrubbing brush but it does wonders on any smell, even dog, in your car. I have cloth seats in my Jeep and it made them smell new again.

Not exactly. You don't want all windows open, you just want one and preferably the driver's side open about an inch or so. The A/C or heat should be blowing out the floor with all other vents closed.

What you're trying to do is create negative air pressure. If done properly, every bit of smoke will be "exhausted" out the driver's side window because that is the airflow you've created. No smoke, or smell, remains in the car.

With multiple windows open you lose the negative air pressure and smoke will swirl around the cabin.

Exactly, and it does work believe it or not. Also helps to hold your cigar in your left hand (closest to the window). This almost guarantees that all the smoke will exit the vehicle. If you have a fabric interior, you may have a faint smell but IMO, its the good kind, the kind you smell when you walk near a cigar shop and pulls you in :) G1

This statement couldn't be any more correct from a f.o.g. With thousands of cigars smoked. Learn from the best men! Just make sure the cars recirculater is off!!!!

There we go. That's why I'm a big fan of those cheap Bobkin ashtrays. I keep it clipped on my drivers door, and always keep the cigar close. I tried in the cupholder once, and then you end up with smoke blowing in your face all the time.

Mike is SPOT on with the 1 window only. If I am smoking and the dog wants to hang out the window, I suddenly have a truck filled with cigar smoke. On the last truck I used those vent visor things, but they were a waste. The only good they did was let me crack the window when it was raining, but that doesn't compensate for the extra noise they created.

I haven't tried the Bobkin ashtrays yet, but I know a lot of people like them. I am embarrassed to say I tear the band off and then toss the cigar out the window. Is that littering? I would guess the highway patrol would say yes.

I do the same thing with the cigar, depending on if the area has a burn ban or not, hah. The bobkin is handy. I like to set the cigar down, or if I smoke while driving I end up searching for the cure.

A man of the cloth would not bend me over and make me take it like you are.

I may put the Droid in the bobkin and ship it back to you. :bouncetau

I have a big and comfy old Buick with leather seats. I keep a small humidor on my desk at work and on days when I know traffic will be terrible or I just feel the need, I grab a smoke out for the nearly 40 mile drive from work to my house. It has made the nasty Chicagoland traffic much more tolerable.
