I hate to see this video. I have lots of military friends and have the utmost respect for our military knowing they put their lives on the line for our country. There are teenagers and 20 somethings beating the desert and have seen their best friends being shot and blown up right in front of them. I know there is hatred within for these animals that strap bombs to themselves and behead a live American. And I know things go on that are not made public, that needs to stay that way.

I don't agree with what the soldiers did first of all. But I hate the fact that these terrorists and the Taliban will now use this video to condemn America and the reasons we have a presence in the Middle East. I wish we would just go about our business without giving them any ammo, it makes all Americans look bad. Taking a video and posting it online, really?

I wasn't going to start this thread because I know it will probably turn into a political pissing match, but it made big news and I simply wanted to share in case you haven't seen it.

Not really sure why they would post this online. I mean that one guy got shit on when a video of him singing "jihad girl" or something was on the net. I do not see how they thought this wouldnt be bad.

I don't think anyone has any sort of delusions that stuff like this doesn't happen at all. It's just that I think most of us expect better out of our our military members. IMO, stuff like this is unacceptable from those who represent the US Gov't.

Not condoning anything, but... War is an ugly thing. It's the ugliest thing thing humans might have to face. I've have friends who have been there, & it changes you. It will make you do things, & think things that aren't in your character... Think about how people react to the mob effect. Perfectly normal people, who would never normally break any laws, get caught up, & do completely un-normal things.

Eh to each his own opinion, but I just dont see how the actions werent wrong. I am not villifying them saying they are evil and should burn, I just think that it was a dumb move that affects the country as a whole due to the uniform that they wear.
