I also agree. On my other message board it resulted to name calling and insults within 10 posts. Great job guys. Respecting one another is awesome.

Just wanted to say, this is one of the more insightful point/counterpoint threads I've read on any forum in quite some time. Kudos to everyone for stating their point of view without resorting to insults or attacks on those opposing. Reason #9280 that BOTL kicks ass

I guess I'm not morally superior. The only thing I see wrong is they taped it and lost control of the video. I have too many dead friends because of the fucks that are getting pissed on. Guys that were closer and more dear to me than my own brother. In fact I had friends in situations where they were confronted with the button man from the other end of a command wire that was trying to kill him. The man was in custody. I would have played judge, jury, and executioner on that day instead of sending him to a "cushy" American POW camp. If you have a problem with my view, oh well. War is the business of not dying and killing the other guy. If "disturbing" footage is a Marine pissing on a dead guy, then we have problems. At least they weren't slicing off their ears and sticking them on a string.

I kept hearing Matt Lauer (giant douche) saying "we have some disturbing footage" yesterday morning. He doesn't make a squeak about someone getting killed that's a US servicemember. He just gives a shit about the gotcha moment. So fuck the media right up their elitist assholes. Did you guys know that last week three EOD guys were killed and a total of five killed since the year started? That's sort of a big deal. Them being dead means that everyone is more at risk because there are less bomb techs to work on keeping everyone else from being killed by IEDs. There isn't any news coverage, instead you get to see a video of guys taking a piss out doors with dead terrorists strewn around.

You have to keep in mind I'm not a sensitive politically correct kind of guy. As far as I'm concerned if someone was shooting at me, or my friends I didn't care what happened to them.

Trust me, I'm at least as angry as you are, very likely more so. I've had personal friends and thousands of bretheren in arms die at the hands of these shitbags and others like them. If I, as a civilian, had an opportunity to desecrate the corpse of bin Laden, Al-Awlaki, Mullah Omar, or any of their followers, I might well be the first one with my junk in my hand after drinking a 12 pack without breaking the seal.....provided that nobody was recording it for the enemy's later propaganda efforts. As a member of my country's armed forces, that option is not open to me, and neither is it open to the Marines in the video. I'm quite certain that every last one of those Marines have performed countless honorable acts in service to their country, but their actions just erased an unknowable amount of progress that we may have made in the region, and could, in a worst case scenario, render moot the sacrifices made by their own brothers in arms, many of whom gave their lives in pursuit of that progress. And these are United States Marines, the nation's elite fighting force. These are purported, by the Corps and pretty much everyone else on the planet, to be the absolute best, most honorable fighting men on Earth. Look at the video from the eyes of the enemy, who desperately wants to convince the populous that all Americans are d-bags, then look at it through the eyes of that populace. These Marines just made the job easier for the enemy, and unbelievably more difficult for their own nation. And now it's probably going to cost more valuable, precious American lives. That's why it isn't okay. Believe me when I tell you I don't like any of this shit any better than you do.
