I don't know that NC cigars simply "keep on truckin"... the amount of business that would be lost to the novelty of being able to smoke the forbidden fruit, for the masses, has to have some negative effect on the NC manufacturers. I know a lot of us here basically ignore the embargo, but the majority of American smokers aren't BOTL...

I just don't think that the world supply of Cubans will sustain a depression of NC smokes. NC. brands will most likely see a drop in sales, but I think profits will still be made and bounce back quickly. I think botl's will stop buying and casual smokers will buy both. Just my opinion.

Just my 2 cents...CC production and quality would remain the same. Why would they turn out an inferior product if they don't have to? It would only hurt them in the long run. The Cuban cigar industry isn't hurting for American dollars. The rest of Cuba is though.

I've read that cuban cigar quality suffered greatly during the 90s cigar boom.
