.... What happens to the cigar industry if the US suddenly drops the embargo on Cuba products?
I did a quick search.. I just didn't look hard enough. :crying:Probably best to search first....there is a thread on this:

Funny - this is exactly what I was thinking as well.Cuban cigars go to shit from tyring to keep up with demand while prices skyrocket meanwhile NC cigars keep on trucking.
Pretty much!Cuban cigars go to shit from tyring to keep up with demand while prices skyrocket meanwhile NC cigars keep on trucking.
 Totally agree Dan! :clap:Jose Pepin Garcia blends the perfect cigar using a fusion of Cuban and non-Cuban tobacco.

I just don't think that the world supply of Cubans will sustain a depression of NC smokes. NC. brands will most likely see a drop in sales, but I think profits will still be made and bounce back quickly. I think botl's will stop buying and casual smokers will buy both. Just my opinion.I don't know that NC cigars simply "keep on truckin"... the amount of business that would be lost to the novelty of being able to smoke the forbidden fruit, for the masses, has to have some negative effect on the NC manufacturers. I know a lot of us here basically ignore the embargo, but the majority of American smokers aren't BOTL...
This...and according to Jaimy Garcia this is already a planned project should it happen.Jose Pepin Garcia blends the perfect cigar using a fusion of Cuban and non-Cuban tobacco.

I think the Padrons might also do a project similar to Pepin.This...and according to Jaimy Garcia this is already a planned project should it happen.
I've read that cuban cigar quality suffered greatly during the 90s cigar boom.Just my 2 cents...CC production and quality would remain the same. Why would they turn out an inferior product if they don't have to? It would only hurt them in the long run. The Cuban cigar industry isn't hurting for American dollars. The rest of Cuba is though.
I wouldn't doubt it. If they get greedy it will.I've read that cuban cigar quality suffered greatly during the 90s cigar boom.
