You silly naive noobs... this is all a Starbucks marketing ploy and reading how many of you are going to Starbucks today to show support (that normally don't like Starbucks), sounds like it's working! :)
yes, that is probable. BUT loyalty buys loyalty. even if this is a PR move, if they stand behind it going forward, i still applaud it.

Funny thing is, they're not making any stand. The "stand" they are making is not making any stand.

I really am joking, but I just find it ironic how they are getting such exposure over this...

Which is odd. In the past they've been more open about their pro-gun policy. All the articles in the past two weeks I've come across talk about how Starbucks just wants to be neutral.

You could always open carry your unloaded sidearm into a Starbucks. However, I don't think I'm bold enough to do that over in your state...

I don't spend my money in Starbucks period. I could care less how they stand on this issue. I just don't like their overpriced crappy coffee.

I will back gun rights though.

The irony of course is now that word is out that SB is carry freindly, it will be WAY less likely that a bad guy will pull any stupid sh!t there. Thanks anti-gun wackos!

Wouldn't you like to know?
As a Canadian and non-gun guy as pretty much impossible to carry unless a on duty LEO this makes no sense. Why would anti gun groups go after a single organization? If they want to change things do it at a government level not business level. Do they want them to implement a weapons check with the coat check. All you would do is chase off law abiding citizens from your business by putting in stupid rules. Doesn't make me think more of Starbucks but less of the nutbars organizing the boycott.

I wasn't aware of this, but I actually went to Starbucks today (Grande White Mocha, extra shot, half the syrup). I don't generally care for Starbucks, but if in some small way I helped foil an anti-gun boycott, it was well worth the six bucks and change...!

Why not go in and buy a piece of coffee cake or something? I don't like coffee. They do have teas and other drinks that don't have coffee.

Lawyers/Cops since you know the laws better than I please help me out here.

Even if Starbucks were to be not friendly towards carrying concealed weapons what does it matter? Unless they have installed metal detectors and other security features (highly unlikely), they would never know I walked in with my Glock using a IWB holster. Hell my gun sticks out less than someone with a smart phone in a otter box case on their hip. So with that said if they had a "no guns allowed" sign and I chose to ignore it, then they found out I was in fact lawfully armed, what could they do besides ask me to leave? Sure they could call the cops, but if you broke no laws and voluntarily left there's nothing Starbucks or the responding officers could do (at least the first time). Am I correct in this instance?

Which leads me to a very strange story told to me by a close friend. He carries a lot just like me. In PA there are no laws against carrying in a bank by the way. He was walking into a bank and all of a sudden the entrance doors locked him in and he couldn't get out. Apparently the bank had some sort of security door that ran off a magnetometer. Due to the mass of his concealed gun he set off the security feature and had to be released. He was later informed that it was a feature to protect the bank from guns or something. However they had no signs posted anywhere about "no guns allowed". I cannot confirm this but I believe him that it happened. Anyone ever hear of a security feature like that?
