Hey brothers.. I am in desperate need of a 100 plus count but 100 minimum count humidor asap... Where would you all recommend I can find one for the best price? Thank you for your help. Or if the price is right i will buy two or three smaller count humidors.

Thank you brother for your help and suggestions.. But unfortunately I am not that technology inclined... I am looking for a trusty all in one humidor. I am expecting a shipment in by Friday of next week so I have seven days to locate one.
Go to target. Buy a cooler. Follow the instructions on the coolidor primer (http://www.botl.org/community/forums/showthread.php?t=8917).

Welcome to the slippery slope. :ccool:

What he said. If you want a traditional humidor you either should look at a cabinet or view it as a presentation piece, or at least that's my viewpoint. 100 ct humidors just aren't practical, although they do smell nice.

Cooler is really easy. If you're thinking wine cooler, it's not what you're thinking. He's talking about just like a regular Coleman cooler.

I have a 70qt coleman and it was incredibly easy to set up. Clean it, get the plasticy smell out, add some cedar (or just cedar boxes), humidification, and smokes. Quick, easy, and a helluva lot cheaper when it comes to storage than multiple 100ct humis.

If you don't want the coolador, my weapon of choice, clean out any mostly air tight container and throw three or four boveda 65's in there. In a pinch, I use a gallon or two gallon freezer bag with bovedas. At least then you can shop around and get the humi you want.

I have a 170 quart Coleman. It's beautiful. I just need to invest in humidity beads...

Exactly. :smokingbo You can do it in an afternoon... piece of cake, AND you save $$ that is better spent filling that bad boy. If you are really worried about it, toss a few fans in there to get the air to move around (remember, moist air rises in a closed system).

I seriously regret not doing it earlier... I waited two years (two years too long).

Trust me say this from personal experience that a coolidor is the way to go. you'll spend 80-100 on that 100ct and you'll be looking for another one and before you know it you got 3 humidors to maintain and still be strapped for space. So You'll save yourself lots of money and time just going with a coolidor aka Tupperdor. This is how it's done.

step one buy a cooler
[ame="http://www.amazon.com/Igloo-Family-Cooler-52-Quart-Ocean/dp/B000SZMEP6/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1332652672&sr=8-4"]Amazon.com: Igloo Family Cooler (52-Quart, Ocean Blue): Sports & Outdoors@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41M-lB5QaoL.@@AMEPARAM@@41M-lB5QaoL[/ame]

Next get a digital hygrometer
[ame="http://www.amazon.com/XIKAR-Digital-Round-Hygrometer-832XI/dp/B002V4EZUE/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1332652928&sr=8-3"]Amazon.com: XIKAR Digital Round Cigar Hygrometer 832XI: Everything Else@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41cc%2BCDelAL.@@AMEPARAM@@41cc%2BCDelAL[/ame]

Now Humidification

Boveda
Heartfelt Beads
Humi Care Gel

Now just add some spanish cedar trays or empty boxes and your done. The links are just to show you exactly what you mean. Coleman works just as well and there are many other digital Hygro's out there.

Also here's a video by our very own ron explaing in a bit more detail

dude. you WILL be happy. and broke, as you can now store boxes! o)

seriously: beads + cooler + cigars + adjustable hygro = happy cigar nerd. simple math, really. no mess, no worry (except the aesthetic, but even a plastic cooler looks PIMP full of smokes!), and you save cash for good releases, or a furniture-quality upgrade!

Ditto the storage bags until you can make a wise choice.
You will need to season the unit,so don't get in a hurry, and buy a good humi.Thick walls and a good seal, and good hygro will pay for themselves..........

I had to put aside my pride for the benefit of the cigars... I did not want to have a big "cooler" sitting in my bedroom or closet, I would have much preferred to have a huge humidor, but yes, all the of Brothers have helped me with their wisdom to overcome my pride for the health and well being of the sticks :) Thank you guys!

i think the point is, you don't know huge humidor until you have more time under your belt. i have two 100ct, a 200ct, and a 300ct (4?) freestanding with a wine rack, and am trying to back down INTO coolers for box storage. y'know, until i can finally rock a cabinet! o)

100ct will not last you as long as you think in this hobby. just sayin'.

no truer words have been said.

i think everyone who ever started with a 100 ct (myself included) will tell you the same thing: it was nice for the first few months, but then realized that what was really crucial was having more space for boxes...

On the flip-side, before diving into the box-buying frenzy, remember to sample a few sticks first. I know when I first started I picked up a few boxes that took me forever to get through because my tastes were constantly changing.
