Once again thank you for the tips. I myself already have 6 (100 + ct) humidors, and yes they are all full... I have realized through the wisdom of my brothers here that It is best for storage to go with the coolerdor for right now, that is until... :) I have a walk-in humidor built in my next house :)

no truer words have been said.

i think everyone who ever started with a 100 ct (myself included) will tell you the same thing: it was nice for the first few months, but then realized that what was really crucial was having more space for boxes...

On the flip-side, before diving into the box-buying frenzy, remember to sample a few sticks first. I know when I first started I picked up a few boxes that took me forever to get through because my tastes were constantly changing.

I will grab a good bottle of single malt, and a shotty bottle of 8758734897 malts, so after you get trashed after the first 8 shots of single malt it wont matter after that :)
Don't lie, you'll keep pouring him 3 fingers of JW no matter how many times we tell you not to :smokingbo

That my friend is wisdom.. Trust me, you buy a 100 count and you fill it in a week. Buy a 100qt collidor and it will take you a while to fill it.. Well, unless you stick around here and it will get filled in no time.. lol

I for real look forward to the challenge of trying to get my collidor filled... I wonder just how quick it can be done?

Not to go off topic... What has been everyone's luck been with the seal on larger 100 qt + coolers. I refuse to buy them online unless I own that model already. I'll do a paper test by folding an 8.5x11 piece of paper in half and sticking half of it into the unit and closing the lid. If I can easily pull it out easily, I will not buy the cooler. If I struggle a little, I will buy the cooler. Basically, I’m trying to test the seal. Am I wasting my time or is it worth doing? Just curious what folks opinions are that own a few coolers.

I found the faster I tried to fill a humidor the more junk cigars I ended up with, you can take your time and end up with quality over quantity.

And oh yeah... sip line doesn't apply when they do it as a shooter:dunno:

Bought a 120qt Coleman, it had a better seal than any of the smaller, or larger ones I came across.

Dang Jdog... I could of used that lil tidbit before I just bought my cooler... I just did the Jdog seal test and unfortunately my paper slid out easily... Heading back to Wal-Mart, cursing a bit, but giving thanks to Jdog for his wisdom!

I 100 percent agree with you Craig... I have been very collecting cigars for over 20 years, and after a brief shuffle of the sticks in each of my humidors,, I must say.. I have collected no junk cigars, other than ones people gave me as a gesture over the years... "There will be no Junk in my Trunk!" :)

This is true about the sip line... But it all starts with the sip line... Then gradually digresses into the shooter... :)

Just to reiterate... make the Coolidor. I have 3 humi's that are 100-150 count and i recently changed over to the Coolidor. Keeping up with all the box tetris and RH in 3 separate pieces was a pain. Wish I would have made the move sooner. Unfortunately, I now have 2 empty desktop humidors just sitting around. Use beads, they will save you frustration in the long run. I chose to set mine up vertical by using some wood to level the bottom and made shelves out of empty boxes. Love it and ready for a slightly larger cooler now. I think there may be a pic of it set up vertical in my album. It is all personal choice vertical or horizontal either way works

I just got back from China-Mart with my new cooler, passed Jdog's seal test too btw :) I think I am gonna go vertical with it. Going to look at your album now. Thanks again for everyone's help.

FWIW, When I picked up my cooler, I tested every one on the shelf at target, and went home with the one that had the best seal; some could hardly even hold the dollar I was using to test with...
