Just a quick review. Very quick
I've been smoking mostly cubans over the past few weeks. Most all of them stellar. The most disappointing was last nights petit edmundo. The most outstanding was the PSD4 from '07. But last night I followed up the unimpressive petit edmundo with my first double edged sword.
The Viaje DES is a true testament to the fact that a cigar doesn't have to be cuban to be stellar. This cigar was amazing. Obviously a way different profile than the PSD4, but probably just as impressive. It had deep rich flavors that were very well balanced. A thick meaty smoke. A perfect draw. I think it was med-full in strength. The retro-hale made my nose burn so I didn't do that anymore, so I have no idea what the retro-hale tasted like other than very spicy peppery, I think that's why my eyes started watering.
I'm not one of those guys that tastes toasted walnuts and green peppercorns in cigars, which is surprising because i can do that with food. If you wanna know what it tastes like, i'll copy and paste the above below...

All in all, it was awesome. I will be seeking more of these as I've enjoyed the couple VORs that i've had and it is becoming apparent to me that the reserve stuff that viaje puts out is always stellar.
Pick some up if you can.
