BoM January 2010
The factory has pretty good QC, actually. I honestly think the issue is the tobacco itself. For some reason, the tobacco he uses just doesn't want to burn that well until it's rested for quite a while. I keep my Viajes at 65%, then usually dry box for a bit prior to smoking one. But unless they've been resting or 6-months or more, I usually still have trouble. I'm guessing he doesn't age the cigars much (at all?) either before of after they're rolled.Agree as well. I am so tired of trying to get Late Harvest that have been sitting to burn and draw well. Never had to consistently relight a cigar as much as I do Late Harvest. His quality control blowsI really agree with this. To be honest I haven't totally enjoyed a Viaje since the DES. I thought the Holiday 11 was good but so far of the ones I've had it makes me balk on new releases. Just alot of money to spend on a brand that's had more downs then ups.I am very confused by Viaje and their cigars, now I have chased cigars, and I will continue to chase cigars and have even chased these cigars, but the comments about them being bitter and not good just confuses me as to why we continue to chase these cigars.
I LOVE the Late Harvest and the Exclusivo Lancero, but I too have had trouble keeping those suckers lit. They seem to go out very quickly, and in the case of the LH there is always a spot in the middle where it just doesn't give off much smoke. I put up with this because I love the flavor from these 2 sticks, but I agree it's highly annoying. Hopefully some more rest will cure this (my original S&B MOABs seem to burn fine now).
