Cliff -

Yes, the samurai krunkles is really a fantastic beer. I have yet to try the new collaboration beer as I did not like last years release but may grab one off your recommendation.

Tomorrow I'm heading to my local to get stone mint chocolate imperial stout :stretchgr:stretchgr:stretchgr
It's a great one James! They did it up right this year. You won't be disappointed if you love cinnamon, vanilla and dry chocolate.

Best Imperial Stout ive ever tried, found it in the back of the cooler at a six pack shop with a canned on date of 10/11/11 on it. Thick, black, deep rich roasted flavors, but smooth. 10.5% Need to find more of these!

So this weekend a fellow sour loving friend was here to help me brew my yearly over the top brett aged imperial stout. He brought a bottle of Brux and Brett Beer. Brux was nice and reminded me of a beer I made actually it was so fruity with a little acidity. Brux is just a brettanomyces aged blond ale and it's nice and dry with champagne like carbonation. It may get funkier as it ages and slightly more acidic but it will never be a sour beer since it never saw lactic acid bacteria.

The New Belgium and Lost Abbey Collaboration Brett Beer wasn't that great. It had a weird flavor that I could not place and it was very sweet compared to brux. The best I can come up with for flavor was a weird gritty banana ester flavor.

Overall he wouldn't buy either one again. If Brux were cheaper he'd buy it, but at $20 a bottle its not a repeat purchase.

I read that the New Belgium and Lost Abbey collab Brett Beer had accidentally been pasteurized so if you age the beer it probably won't change much.

Hey John, thats right I forgot you are from SC. You must have been visiting family?

I love Westbrook and Coast breweries located just outside of Charleston about 1.5 hours north of me.

They are really putting out some stellar stuff. Many of their beers are single batches, experimental and don't have proper labels, not always killer but always fun to try.
