Smoked a lot of baitfish and never had a problem. I'm curious why JD and Drew Estate products seem to be the only cigars that are called out on the board for draw problems...... Just curious. Smoked thru a box of t52 and plenty of #9 and a few pigs and enjoyed them all.
I am sure it has absolutely nothing to do with the freebies that are sometimes given away to people who complain, if that is what you are wondering.
Ding ding ding, we have a winner.
Figured that was it

I never meant it as an insult or accusation to the OP. If it came across that way my sincere apology to him. I really would like to hear if other brands are consistently plugged or have issues. I by no means have read all threads started on this subject so more may have been mentioned and I could have just missed them. I would be upset as well if I bought cigars and most of them were plugged. Again, if i offended the OP that was not my intention. Carry on....

Lets get that plugged Bait Fish replaced. It can happen, fellas. As you all know, I declared war on plugged cigars in 2002 and fight them to the death. Hahahahahahaha.

Seriously, hit me up bro at drewnica@yahoo.com so I can make things right. Lets get the replacements out bf the holidays.

So are you saying the OP is just a mooch?
I never said that.

The question was asked about why there is so much bitching about LP. The OP was never mentioned by name, either by me or by him.
I often wonder why people don't contact the vendor or Mfg? If you get a bad product you return it a store for a refund right? Yea I know cigars are not the norm but before I brought my complaints to a higher level I'd contact the Mfg or in this case a B&M with my concerns. I've never seen any other brand give away cigars like JD when people complain about a plugged cigar. Not that I enjoy them but I've learned to live with a slight marginal error when it comes to cigars. Now you had 1-3 plugged cigars but is JD going to send a 1 for 1 hell no you're going to get 5-10. So for the one who complains LP prices are going up this might be a factor into the rise in price!

Sometimes I get REALLY tight draws on my PCRs. I wonder if it's a vitola specific issue. All my other sticks smoke fine as well.
I find plug issues happen more with smaller ring cigars, especially CC's. Every once in awhile I will get a plugged cigar in the Toro or torpedo sizes but really find it alot on the smaller rings.

I didn't want to cause a huge stir or by any means be compensated for the plug issues. I did fly cross country twice with them in my travel humi so their could very well be some issue on my end. It will not stop me from enjoying many more.

especially CC's.
I hear ya man. 3 from 3 PSD4's I've had have been plugged. My Parti Shorts however haven't. Weird, and probably of no use to this conversation lol.
I've only smoked 5 baitfish, and they were all perfect. In fact all DE smokes I've had have had a perfect draw. I think the OP just got unlucky this time around. And, as always, a great gesture from JD and DE. Well played lads.

Those were on the way before I had my first plug. I am pretty excited to dig into them, if this damn weather would warm up!

I have never had plug or draw problems with bait fish, but that has not been true for the other Uzi brands...I still really love the smokes though and Zev/my B&M has always worked with me...I'm a BIG FAN!!!

I'm willing to cut OP some slack here given his tenure on the board but I agree with what several have said with regard to the downside of these threads. Have I experienced plugged cigars in the past? Sure I have. Hell they're handmade items, made 3000 miles or more from their final destination, transported and stored by who-knows-what means before it lands in my lap. Shit's gonna happen.

The need to publicly call out a manufacturer or brand is something I'll never understand. Although JD continually shows he's a standup guy and makes (more than) good for any possibly defective items, I can't say I think that's good for the cigar industry as a whole. If it were me, I'd be a lot more generous to someone that contacted me directly and discreetly than I ever would to someone that made a post in the manner we've seen time and again around here.

As I say - this is NOT to slag the op here, I realize he's fairly new to the board.

I read my post again and it seems like some tact could have been used in the situation. It was not my intention to bash or throw DE under the bus for a non issue really.

I didn't read it as Shaun bashing DE. He genuinely seemed curious if it was a common problem with that cigar, vitola, line etc. Didn't read it as a bash

Asking everyone to end this thread. The dude didn't mean any shit by the post. He had a plugged one or whatever and he made a comment publicly. You guys know how to directly hit me or John Brooke or Saka know if something ain't right and that we jump on it. Again, lets kill it.

But I will say this - You dudes are the fuckin best for lookin out for DE. The love is truly felt and makes me feel extremely appreciative.

We are here with the entire Wife's family doing a photo shoot in Miami.
