You will enjoy them, especially of they've been sitting in another brother's humi awhile.I have a few coming from a fellow BOTL, he was kind enough to sell me a few since they are impossible to get ahold of in Canada. These will be my first FFP, I paid exactly $17 each and didn't think twice about it.
Going to be tough to avoid every cigar being marketed in some way. (Not to mention every marketed consumer product.)There are some great cigars out there and one thing I've seen too many times is the hype over advertised cigars that come out. Think about it...there are a lot of cigars out there and to distinguish yourself from the others one way to overhype a cigar is by creating buzz, price point and ability to get them. This is reminiscent of the Opus and others and while the FFP is a good cigar it's not a $16 cigar when compared to others out there. Will people buy it...of course they will because like anything else that sells in this environment people talk about it and if it's a decent cigar then it becomes a chase to find them. Make them somewhat rare and you tickle the wallets of those who love to have things 'rare' and that drives a market as well as most things. Stop paying that kind of money and the price point comes down because they can't move stock. If people continue to buy them at an inflated value then don't expect the price to come down anytime soon....as I said it's a good cigar but I don't like being manipulated so I won't be buying anymore until they get over themselves and bring it down where the common man can afford it. MHO
I don't see any manipulation with them selling them at the price they are, this is a limited production cigar, the quality of tobacco is there and I can't imagine they have many rollers that roll this shape at the factory. DE isn't "pulling wool" on anyone with the FFP and I know for a fact that it wasn't any kind of deceptive marketing that put them where they are today. There are some great cigars out there and one thing I've seen too many times is the hype over advertised cigars that come out. I've said that FFP's are also priced beyond value TO ME, but I don't begrudge any company for embracing capitalism in open markets; I'm a fan of supply and demand 'theory'.
Just gave my opinion and not saying that DE is being deceptive...it's a generalized thinking outside the box process. Hey, if you want to pay $50 for those cigars that's your prerogative and at the end of the day that's all it is. Cigars and the cost they are is something that each person has to think about for themselves but I understand more than most folks about product and sales and what the market will bare...if you want to encourage the market and pay $50 for a cigar...enjoy.I don't see any manipulation with them selling them at the price they are, this is a limited production cigar, the quality of tobacco is there and I can't imagine they have many rollers that roll this shape at the factory. Where did I encourage anyone to buy $50 cigars?Just gave my opinion and not saying that DE is being deceptive...it's a generalized thinking outside the box process. Ill put it this way. I think they are certainly "worth it to try" at the (~17$) you end up paying here. Assuming it doesn't break your cigar budget of course.Hey guys,
From time to time I tend to comment on here about various cigars that I like (tatuaje, padron, cc, etc) but I have yet to try any of the Liga Feral Flying Pigs. A shop close by my work has a handful of these for $17 plus tax; are these worth it? The only 2 liga's that I have ever smoked was a No 9 Robusto (which I did'nt like) and a T52 Flying Pig which was pretty good. Let me know if this Liga is worthy of the Padron pricing structure!
Thanks!
