Things I suggest listening to....I second clint's suggestion for anything Steely dan!, also I really have been loving David Bowie's album Low, I add in here almost anything from Iron Maiden. Not that I limit myself to such things I also have been really liking listening to Big Pun and Big Sean while smoking lately as well but you guys probally don't like that stuff.

My favorite combo is Miles Davis' Kind of Blue with any good cigar.
Forgot about blues ...yeah that works too. Good jam sessions too
It's actually a jazz album (many consider it one of the best ever). I just know the sound is perfect for relaxing with a stogie
Yeah I know I'm sorry it was more of a thought pyramid and I spoke my thought which was blues from seeing the word. miles Coltrane , heron, Hancock ...just a few

Those are some classic artists my friend! I just recently started appreciating jazz so I'm on a fun journey

I've seen this discussion several times on several forums, but I don't think it works like that.

For example, we can all talk about how a peaty Scotch might complement the fruitiness is a particular cigar, but music is a completely different animal. I think it completely depends on your musical tastes and mood at the time to pick the perfect accompaniment to your cigar smoking experience.

I dont see much dfference because ones preferred drink is also a matter of persosnl taste. For example, I don't think hard liquor goes well with cigars but some swear by it...it all (music, beverages) comes down to personal tastes.

Music is endless, cigars aren't. Like categorizing humanity, impossible. I listen to wide varieties at all times, all forms work for all people, at all times. Cementing what works is beside the point. But do both simultaneously, always!

I wasn't gonna say anything but since it's kinda come up... I don't understand the "it's personal choice" comments (unless the question/answer is related to etiquette or rule or standard that doesn't really exist and then the op is informed it's personal choice/taste) when someone asks a question. The op knows it's up to personal tastes but is also asking for "ideas or suggestions" or just wants to hear/see what others do. Cigars and just about everything about smoking is personal taste/choice but If you've never done something or are In a rut it's cool to hear what others personal tastes/choices to try it out and see if it works for you.

Totally depends. If I'm doing something else, like work or yardwork or something, then I'll just do "background music" like Classical or something of the favorites reel. If it's just me and a cigar relaxing, I usually do worship music or an audiobook.

We need to herf. Your music choices are sublime.
Sitting out on the deck on a lazy summer day, I like a good mix of old 60s and 70s Motown and Philly to set the mood to "chill". Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, Gladys Knight, O'Jays, Temptations, Spinners, Otis Redding, Supremes, Jackson 5, Al Green, Four Tops, and on and on.
